Experience:

Geotechnical research funded by EPSRC, EU and industry. Main areas of interest are; unsaturated soils, heat and moisture migration, vegetation, ground heat transfer (energy efficient buildings).

Professional Activities and Recognition:
|
MSc Tutor, Deputy Director of Studies (Civil Eng.), Served as: Chair of ICE-Wales Ground Engineering Group, and Advisory Panel member for Geotechnical Engineering (ICE-Journal); Recipient of RAE International Travel Grant (2006 and 2009).
Dr Rees has served as a reviewer for several international journals inlcuding, Geotechnique, Building and Environment, Building Services Engineering and Technology, Urban Forestry and Urban Greening etc. He has also served as external examiner for PhDs (e.g. Open Univeristy, Queen University Belfast). He has been principal or co-investigator on EPSRC(SERC), EU(CEC) and industrially sponsored research.
