Developing a service based infrastructure for the engineering community. Using advanced computing technologies such as service oriented computing, cloud computing for solving the complex challenges that face society and industry in an innovative manner.

Ioan Petri holds a PhD in ''Cybernetics and Statistics'' from Babes-Bolyai University. He has worked in industry, as a software developer at Cybercom Plenware and then as a research assistant on several projects funded by the Romanian Authority of Research. Starting with 2009, he collaborated with the School of Computer Science & Informatics(Cardiff University) as an internship researcher in Distributed and Parallel Computing. Currently he is an associate researcher in School of Engineering. His research interests span over three main areas within distributed systems:
1. Cloud Computing
2. Peer-to-Peer Economics
3. Trust and reputation


Professional Activities and Recognition:

- POSDRU award for scientific performance

- Attended over 40 researching seminars and lectures related to Computer Science and Informatics

- Associate reviewer for Advanced Engineering Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Computers, IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing, Knowledge Based System, Computers in Industry journals.
